About Dianetics and Scientology
Dianetics was developed by L. Ron Hubbard. In his book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, he describes the part of the mind that is the source of stress, anxiety, unhappiness, self-doubt and irrational thoughts and and behavior—the reactive mind. Further, the book lays out an exact counseling methodology to overcome it. Since its release in 1950, Dianetics has sold over 20 million copies and its methodology is practiced in thousands of groups and centers throughout the world.
You can watch an introduction to Dianetics here.
Scientology is from scio (Latin) “knowing, in the fullest sense of the word,” and logos (Greek) “study of.” In Scientology, fundamentals laws of life have been isolated and a workable technology developed that you can use to improve the conditions of your life and to help others. It has exact, precise methods to increase a person’s capabilities, happiness and potential. This is done through counseling, courses, books and recorded lectures.
Scientology is an all-denominational religion and it welcomes people of all creeds and faiths. It is for use for anyone to improve their lives and the lives of others. Scientology holds in common many of the beliefs of other religions and philosophies. It considers Man to be a spiritual being with more to him than flesh and blood. Scientology believes Man to be basically good, not evil, and that he is capable of spiritual betterment. It is the goal of Scientology to bring a person to a point where he is capable of sorting out the factors in his own life and solving his own problems. Scientology and Dianetics were founded by L. Ron Hubbard, who over a period of more than six decades researched into the mind, spirit and life. His research is recorded in more than 5,000 writings and 3,000 recorded lectures. In addition to the mind and spirit, his works cover subjects as diverse as drug rehabilitation, education, marriage and family, success at work, administration, art and many other aspects of life.
